Virtual Reality (VR)
Virtual Reality (VR) is an immersion in a digital simulation of a digital world. It can be used to visualize, interact and even simulate the behavior of objects and the results of events.
In this link, you can get more detailed information (in English) .
Applications of VR
Virtual Reality has multiple applications, both for entertainment and for commercial experiences. At SEREX, together with our technological partners, we have focused on developing experiences to facilitate the transmission and retention of both, scientific as industrial knowledge.

VR for Industry
At SEREX we have developed digital experiences where it is possible to simulate a process to optimize it, but also using Virtual Reality to see it in an immersive way, at different scales.
This allows more clarity to support decision-making regarding, for example, the design of industrial plants or manufacturing cells..
We have also worked, together with our commercial partner PNXLabs, in the development of experiences to facilitate the transmission of knowledge and the development of skills, such as simulators for welding or complex and dangerous industrial processes.

VR in Education
Immersive educational experiences, enriched with the use of Virtual Reality. Contact us for more information on the use of these resources for professional and scientific training.
VR Plants for engineering simulations: Duck Toys
This project was develeped by a transdisciplinary team of professors and specialists in VR of Tecnológico de Monterrey, with the participation of Dr. Francisco Tamayo, from SEREX.
Currently, together with the virtual plant Virtual Duck Toys a collaborative site of free-access is available, with the idea of integrating a learning community of professors, students and practitioners interested int he use of this resource to solve different challenges, using engineering tools.
In 2022, this project was selected as a finalist (short-listed) of the prestigious international award Reimagine Education Awards which is the world's largest awards program for innovative pedagogies.

Duck Toys in Augmented Reality
This project allows easy visualization and interactions between participants and digital objects, using both VR equipment and computers and mobile phones.
Through this project, used for different case studies, at SEREX we have verified that the most important thing to take advantage of these technologies is to have an interesting and well-designed case study, where Virtual Reality is a well-integrated complement.
You can see an example of this experience here directly, or in the links below. You don't need VR equipment, you can see it from your computer or mobile phone.
